The Howard County Conservancy is Howard County’s only environmental education center. Six thousand students participate in programs at the Conservancy each year including field trips, service learning, scout activities, camps and more. Ruth and Frances Brown, donors of the Conservancy's Mt. Pleasant Farm, were both Howard County Public School teachers for 49 and 50 years! We are proud to provide educational programs that support the legacy of Ruth and Frances Brown, who touched so many young lives in Howard County. Our school programs feature field trips for Elementary Schools and Middle School students and service learning for seventh grade. Our Schools Out program offers a full-day option of environmental education activities on those days the school system is closed - a great option for working parents! Our popular summer camps provide eight weeks of full day camps in one-week sessions. Our camps encourage children to learn about Howard County's environment through hands-on exploration of our own 232-acre farm. To learn more about any of our educational activities follow the links under "education" or call Tabby Fique, Education Director, at 410-465-8877. |
